The blue waters of Hawaii compel many visitors to try the sport of surfing. If you
have reasonable expectations, which should be to stay balanced for a few seconds, then
you will have a blast. I would recommend
small waves of about 3 to 4 feet in size. You really do not want to learn to surf when a
big swell comes in and generates huge waves. You will quickly become frustrated, tired,
and swallow a gallon of salt water. I would recommend some private
lessons as they can really help with the basics. Here are a few good spots to get started.
We have also included
maps to each location from our condo.
