Tiffany from Evanston, WY asks: I thought Mauna Kea was a private beach?

Answer: There is no such thing as a private beach in Hawaii. Although, parking is extremely limited to a small parking lot that is run by the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel . Just stop at the guard station and if there is available room in the parking lot they will give you a parking pass.
